The Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) in Lakatnik has existed since 1971.
It consists of twelve volunteer highly qualified mountain rescuers.
It is mainly active in the area of Lakatnishki skali, but not only there.
It is specialized in providing first aid in the mountain, helping troubled tourists, searching for lost tourists, transporting injured people from hard-to-reach terrains.
Mountain Rescue Service-Lakatnik also develops control and preventive activities to prevent accidents in its assigned area.
