Svidnya

Svidnya is a village in Western Bulgaria. It is located in the Municipality of Svoge, Sofia district. A traditional fair in the village of Svidnya is celebrated on May 6th every year.

Geography
It is located in a mountainous area. It is situated on the northern slope of Mala Planina. It is 45 km away from Sofia and 5 km from Svoge and the Iskar Gorge. It belongs to the settlement area of ​​the Iskar Gorge. To the east it borders Svoge, to the south – Tseretsel, to the west – Chibaovtsi, to the north – Iskretsh, to the northeast – Dobarchin.

It consists of 25 neighborhoods: Tsiganka, Debeli Rat, Padesh, Bokintsi, Preslop, Gorno selo, Pesoko, Chechka bara, Krusha, Gerakovtsi, Dashovtsi, Petrovtsi, Prachovtsi, Biovitsa, Gragorovtsi, Rekata, Drandarete, Stoevtsi, Ilkovtsi, Gerova leska, Vlovitsa, Pravets, Krastnitsi, Kolibishte, Golo rebra. Some are completely depopulated (Tsiganka, Debeli rat, Krastnitsi, Pesoko, Krusha) because of the concentration of the village around the administrative center of Rekata neighborhood.
